Michael F. Simon Builders

PROJECT OVERVIEW: This feature project took a builder-grade, standard looking bar and created an upscale space perfect for entertaining. The homeowners were frequent hosts, but they felt limited by the existing bar space. They wanted this room to match the upgrades done to the rest of the home, and provide a “wow” factor when entering the space. New appliances, lighting, and wood ceiling detail lead to success in making a striking statement. When looking at the decorative wood ceiling, quality craftsmanship is evident; hidden fasteners, scribed rails and stiles, and pocket hole joinery ensure that all of the connections will not come apart due to expansion and contraction. Every piece meets the next seamlessly eliminating the need for wood filler or putty. Not only is this space better suited for the caterers and guests that will frequent the space, but it will stand up to the frequent use due to quality products and craftsmanship. Priced under $30,000 this project great provided value to the home and will be enjoyed for years to come.
